Harvest
The weather tried to pull some shit on us again and fuck up the harvest action, but somehow it up and changed its mind. Yesterday they came and ran the combine over the home field, and apparently it was so good that they had to call in a truck to haul some of it away while they were harvesting. Now this isn't a big deal for most, but we only have 40 acres (minus the corner piece we live on) here to work with, and it's not irrigated. They should be harvesting the Ponderosa today, and the hubby is so excited that he wants to ride on the combine too.
I, however, do not. Farm equipment does not look like a fun ride to me. But I'm still thrilled at how well the harvest is coming along. Now of course a big chunk of it is already spent - planting, hail insurance, the harvesting itself, not to mention other expenses we need to take care of and the cost of doing this all over again. I don't know if we're going to have enough left over to buy a new lawnmower like he wants to, but even if we don't it's still a good year for us.
