Reviewage

Once again the birthday thing has brought some new bits of media into my life. I've already digested it, so here's what I think.

I got two CDs this year. The first was a new one by the Chemical Brothers called We Are the Night. It was pretty good, but I wouldn't call it great. It's one of those things that I'm going to have to listen to a few times to really know where I am with it. There are a couple of good tracks on it that grabbed me, specifically Do It Again. The second one is the Community Service II album by the Crystal Method. This one grabbed me and shook me around a bit. Definitely worth the purchase - I expect to be booming this from the car often.

Bookwise I finally got around to picking up Neil Gaiman's Anansi Boys. I knew I was going to get it eventually, but I've just had other things jump ahead of it on the purchase list. I wish I'd grabbed it sooner. This is one of those rare novels that I sit and read and keep telling myself I'll just read to the next section break and put it down. I nearly got home late with dinner - I read through about 2/3 of it before I had to make myself quit reading it. Fantastic read, worth every moment, I even laughed out loud several times. If you have even the slightest like of Mr. Gaiman's work, do read this one.
