All manner of visitors
We got to welcome a whole handful to Muleshoe this weekend. The Tornado and her beau dropped by on fri for the last leg of their big tour of the continental US. Mostly a sedate visit, they definitely needed to get a rest in (and some tacos from Leal's) after driving across the state to get here. Had a nice time and did some cookout and a couple rounds of bocce on sat before they had to move on along to get home by tue.
We had our professor friend come along on sat just as the two of them were getting ready to get on the road. More sedate weekend happenings really - just visiting and relaxing. And he just got back from Guatemala, so the hubby and I got to have the weekend hearing tales of our guests' travels. No, we hardly go anywhere.
But the big surprise was on sat, when we took the Tornado to peep out the dairy over next to the ponderosa place. Not only did we get to see them do the milking thing, we also got to watch a baby calf being born. It was a remarkably non-fwaga experience, even if the guy had to get the chains and drag the poor critter out. Now the hubby wants to get another baby calf for me to bottle feed. Ech.
