Not impressed at all
I have been playing with this stupid online version of the 20Q for a while now. So far, out of about half a dozen things I've come up with it has managed to guess only one. I've played with one of the actual toys once, and I stumped it too. Now I know, some of my choices are pretty unlikely. I know it isn't going to pick something like cock ring or penile implant or anus. Hell, it almost got anus. But I also picked puzzle ring, which it quasi guessed as an engagement/wedding ring or just a ring. But no, that doesn't count on Jeopardy. It couldn't get Astroturf either, or cow poop (I would have accepted 'manure' but it didn't manage that either).
It got pi though. And really, that doesn't surprise me. I'm not going to give it a break and come up with easy things - that would be entirely pointless. But it's still sad that I can regularly come up with semi obscure things that it is incapable of guessing in twenty-nine tries. So, let's try a few more before I get bored with it:
Fascism - no, but it did get close asking if it was a political party
Vampire - feh, not even close
Pac-Man - nope, and it even asked twice if it was a pinball machine
Pirate - well sonofabitch it actually got one
Okay, let's try self-referential: the 20Q - color me amazed, it got this one too.
Okay, my opinion of the thing is raised slightly. Just slightly. I'm still annoyed that I stumped it with fucking Astroturf though.

A word to the cat haters
I hear it said often by people who prefer dogs to cats that dogs love you and are loyal and the best animals ever, and cats just look at humans as a food source, and would otherwise ignore them. They say that cats don't like anybody.

This cat is stalking me
Thanks to my bro-in-law I am now helplessly hooked on the StumbleUpon madness. I should have been in bed an hour and a half ago.
But tonight, for some reason, this fucking cat is every other click. Mind you, those examples are just the ones I could get from tracking back in my history. (A bunch got eaten by me surfing engrish goodness.) That cat is sucking out their souls, man!

This made me laugh

So I'm bumming around on Newgrounds looking for something to do when I notice this flash banner at the top.
Before it gets to this state it asks you to smoke a cig, which is lying around on the banner, and you drag it over to the lips. The lips start dashing all over the place to avoid the cig, as this is an anti-smoking campaign. Very cute idea. But here's what I want to know - WTF is up with this:
She's got this big ol' herpes sore on her lip! I think smoking is the least of her troubles. Should it perhaps say "No skank you"?

Damn you Callard and Bowser!
I was this close to getting out of the Hastings without yet another damn tin. But no, Altoids had to go and put out yet another new product with a new tin that I had to buy. Dark chocolate covered peppermints Altoids. Apparently they have them in all the flavors, but the peppermints were the only ones I saw. And yes, when I find the others they will be bought.
They're not bad actually, kinda like a crunchy Junior Mint. Sucking on them is a waste of time, because you get a brief chocolate experience then you're just left sucking on an Altoid with chocolate aftertaste teasing you. Crunch them.

From square one
Well I've finally done the backup/reformat thing on this machine. This means the list of small things that slipped through the cracks of the backup portion of that is starting to become apparent. Fortunately none of them are absolutely necessary.
I'm a little peeved that the latest version of the Y!IM has such quiet, barely audible alert tones. The previous ones were a bit obnoxious, but at least I could hear them while ironing. Now they're just these little puffs of sound. Pansies.
I think I got all the necessary updates and crap done. Of course I'll probably be spending most of tomorrow getting more while I install a couple things (time sinks mainly) that I haven't gotten to yet.
